What we offer

Blue Water Divers carries a full range of scuba diving rental gear from leading brands, so whether you're visiting Bermuda on a cruise, travelling light, or simply prefer not to bring your own equipment, we have everything you need to get in the water.

Masks & fins

A solid selection of masks and fins to suit different face shapes and foot sizes.

Wetsuits

A range of sizes to keep you comfortable diving in Bermuda year-round. Water temperatures range from around 60°F (16°C) in winter to 84°F (29°C) at the peak of summer. Our team will help you choose the right thickness for your dive.

Regulators

Our regulator fleet is predominantly ScubaPro, with Sherwood Bruts also available. All regulators are serviced and tested before each season.

BCDs

We stock both ScubaPro weight-integrated and Mares non-weight-integrated BCDs across a full size range. If you're bringing your own weight-integrated BCD to Bermuda, we carry a complete selection of lead weights on board to suit it.

Dive tanks

Our cylinders are predominantly LUXFER aluminium 80 cu ft tanks - the industry standard for recreational scuba diving. We also carry a small number of 60 cu ft tanks for younger divers or smaller adults with efficient air consumption.

Travelling to Bermuda with a DIN regulator?
Some of our tanks are fitted with valves that accept DIN adaptors. Please let us know when booking so we can ensure availability. If a DIN valve tank isn't available on the day, you're welcome to use one of our rental regulators at no extra charge.

Why Aluminium Tanks?

We don't carry steel cylinders in our Bermuda dive rental fleet, and there are two straightforward reasons for that.

Easier to handle
Steel cylinders are heavier. On a dive boat where gear needs to be moved around quickly and safely, the lower weight of aluminium tanks makes a real difference for both crew and divers.
Better in salt water
Bermuda's seawater has a particularly high salt content. Over time, this takes a toll on steel - aluminium holds up far better in these conditions, making it the more durable and sensible choice for our environment.

Do we carry higher volume alumnium cylinders?

No. Many students are advised by their instructors to ask for higher volume cylinders in order to deal with issues with air consumption. This presents a few problems - 1, high-volume cyclinders don't fit in the tank rack and this makes them more difficult to move on the boat. 2, BCDs would need to be adjusted in order to accommodate higher volume cylinders. 3, adjusting for air consumption by using a higher volume cylinder is not the best way to resolve issues with air consumption. We are happy to coach you on this and it doesn't cost you a thing!

At Blue Water Divers - Bermuda's longest-running PADI dive centre - we take the maintenance of our scuba gear seriously. Before every season, and whenever needed in between, here's how we make sure everything is safe and ready.

All rental dive equipment is serviced annually.

The full inventory is inspected by Bermuda's Department of Marine and Ports - a legal requirement before our dive shop can be licensed each year.

Any gear that needs attention outside the annual cycle is serviced in-house - we don't wait for the next scheduled check.

Our crew checks every diver's setup before anyone enters the water. If no one has checked your gear, just let the captain know.
