RATING ON GOOGLE REVIEWS

At Blue Water Divers, we maintain a high instructor-to-diver ratio on every trip, so you'll always have an experienced guide in the water with you. Here's the team that makes it happen.

Chris Gauntlett - The Admiral

Chris took over Blue Water Divers in 2012 and has been teaching scuba diving since the early 1990s. He's a PADI IDC Staff Instructor, a licensed pilot, and the kind of person who will greet you with a Caddyshack reference before you've had your morning coffee.

Married to Melanie, with two daughters (Sophie and Amy), Chris is the heart of the operation — and the source of its best and worst jokes. The jokes predate the company, which has been running for over 35 years. Make of that what you will.

tommy

Tommy

Tommy has been part of BWD since he was thirteen years old. He worked his way from student to Master Scuba Diver, then on to Divemaster, and is also a qualified "Hard Hat" commercial diver. He is, in the best possible way, the old shoe of the shop — comfortable, reliable, and impossible to imagine the place without. He also has surprisingly good taste in music.

Justin — "Bolla"

Justin joined us in May 2019, arriving in Bermuda from Southern California by way of a long career as an EMT in Chicago. He's a PADI Instructor and Captain-in-training. We call him Bolla — Italian for bubbles — for reasons involving a perforated eardrum. Whether it was hot air or a wealth of knowledge escaping, we may never know.

phoebe

Phoebe

Phoebe joined the team in 2023 after working as a PADI Scuba Instructor in Cape Town, South Africa. She has officially dethroned Chris as the shop's foremost champion of the colour Safety Orange. She wears Chilli Pepper shorts when she feels spicy, and Lemon shorts when she feels sour. Those are her two moods. There are no others.

skyla

Skyla

Skyla is the youngest member of the crew and the only competitive Hobby-Horse equestrian on staff. Currently a PADI Rescue Diver and Divemaster candidate, she is working her way up through the ranks while maintaining a daily routine that includes mayonnaise eaten directly from the jar and a dedicated afternoon hibernation period. We admire her commitment to both.
